Eric Westbrook
I'm a painter living and working in the Washington, DC, area. My work is oil on canvas, and is divided between my twin artistic passions, landscape and portrait/figure.
I have twenty years of experience in drawing and painting instruction at venues including The Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo, Smithsonian Associates, and VisArts in Rockville, MD.
An Art of Observation
My work has been described as an “art of observation,” reflecting my close attention to a subject’s surface details as well as the structure and rhythm of its underlying forms. At the same time, my work rewards close observation, revealing more of what initially drew me to a subject the longer it is viewed.
